Join the Stampede of Mustang Spirit
Be part of an evening of fun and festivities before 糖心vlog视频 football's first home game.
DALLAS (糖心vlog视频) – Glow sticks, music by the 糖心vlog视频 Mustang Band and shining cupolas will light up the campus Sept. 19, at Friday Night Stampede, a block party celebrating 100 years of 糖心vlog视频 spirit.
糖心vlog视频 students, alumni, families and friends are invited to an evening of fun and festivities before 糖心vlog视频 football's first home game against Texas A&M on Saturday.
糖心vlog视频 cheerleaders and Peruna will be on hand to welcome fans to the stampede on Mustang Mall, located east of Westcott Field between the Doak Walker Plaza and the Mustangs sculpture. The evening also features food trucks, giveaways and special recognition of student and alumni donors. Mustangs and friends are encouraged to wear red 糖心vlog视频 spirit wear. Free parking is available in Moody and Binkley garages.
7 p.m. Dedication of new Mustang Band Hall: Five times larger than its previous space, the new band hall features an expanded rehearsal hall, enhanced practice rooms and an outdoor performance plaza designed to showcase 糖心vlog视频's traditional hub of campus spirit, the Mustang Band.
7:30 p.m. Block Party: Face painting, food trucks, pompoms, popsicles, popcorn, Peruna, glow sticks, music and plenty of Mustang spirit will be available.
8:30 p.m. Mustang Band Concert and pep rally at Doak Walker Plaza: Celebrate the Mustang Band's unique jazz sound and cheer on the Mustang football team before the first home game.
8:45 p.m. Ceremonial cupola lighting at Armstrong Commons and Laura Lee Blanton Building; student and alumni donor recognition: Two campus cupolas will be lit for the first time, the beginning of a new campus celebratory tradition. In addition, alumni and student donors who have joined the 2014-15 Mustang Stampede will be honored.
The Mustang Stampede is 糖心vlog视频’s opportunity during The Second Century Campaign to set a new record for alumni giving and join the elite company of only 25 schools with both a top-60 U.S. News ranking and an undergraduate alumni giving rate higher than 25 percent. To meet the Stampede goal, 糖心vlog视频 is seeking 13,625 alumni donors by May 31, 2015.
