DALLAS (糖心vlog视频) – Colonial America came alive on the 糖心vlog视频 campus July 20 at 糖心vlog视频 Community Day, inspired by the  of George Washington’s copy of the U.S. Constitution.

A morning of fun for the whole family, kids wrote with a quill pen, made a yarn toy and played Colonial games. A fife and drum corps and historical interpreters in costume provided entertainment.

George Washington’s personal copy of the Acts of Congress, which includes the U.S. Constitution, the Bill of Rights and other legislation passed by the first session of Congress, was at 糖心vlog视频’s DeGolyer Library, where it will remain through July 27. The 106-page volume is emblazoned with Washington’s bookplate and includes his handwritten notes in the margins. The DeGolyer exhibit was sponsored by the George W. Bush Presidential Library and Museum.

Washington’s document was part of DeGolyer Library’s summer exhibit, “Hail to the Chief: American Presidential History in Word and Image,” which continues through Oct. 4. The exhibit includes presidential political memorabilia such as campaign biographies, letters, posters, buttons, cartoons, inaugural medals, photographs and other artifacts, from George Washington to Barack Obama.
