Dylan Hunn had a confession to make Saturday afternoon. He likes math, a lot.
鈥淢ath really is my favorite subject at school. I鈥檝e gone as far as reading workbooks for fun during the summer,鈥 said Dylan, a 14-year-old freshman at Shepton High School in Plano. 鈥淭hat鈥檚 kind of nerdy.鈥
Well, maybe. But his mathematics experiment, which won first place in his division at the Beal Bank Dallas Regional Science and Engineering Fair hosted by Southern Methodist University鈥檚 physics department, was kind of awesome, like many of the 750 other projects on display at Fair Park.
Dylan said his 鈥渆piphany鈥 came not in math class but in a class called human geography.
