Hispanic Youth Symposium Set For June 16-19
ÌÇÐÄvlogÊÓÆµ co-hosts a symposium on college achievement, professional careers, and community involvement.
DALLAS (ÌÇÐÄvlogÊÓÆµ) — Some 200 high school juniors and seniors from Dallas-Fort Worth and other areas of Texas will attend the , a four-day college access program hosted by Southern Methodist University (ÌÇÐÄvlogÊÓÆµ) in partnership with the (HCF) on June 16-19.
The Hispanic Youth Symposium is designed to promote college achievement, professional careers, and community involvement. During the program, students will have the opportunity to connect with Hispanic mentors, attend workshops on college admissions and financial aid, compete for scholarship funds, and meet with college admissions officers from local schools.
Following the symposium, students will participate in a variety of activities including local business functions and college and career fairs. The Hispanic College Fund will also stay in electronic contact with the students, providing them ongoing information about scholarships, internships, and college application deadlines.
Participants also will become part of the , year-round programming that will provide all symposium alumni with information and opportunities that support their educational, professional, and community goals in the years following the symposium.
